I heard some disturbing news this weekend and would like verification if possible? As I understand it, GM counts a vehicle as sold and reports each vehicle as sold to the govt. when it is driven off the assembly line, not when it leaves a showroom. If true, then the public is being lied to by both GM and the Govt. Perhaps this explains all of the vehicles parked in fields behind the covered railroad cars?

Have you ever taken an accounting class? A manufacturer would only hold the inventory on its books and record a retail sale to non-B2B customer if the inventory was held by the retailer on consignment, which is not the case with auto dealers. Auto dealers own their own inventory.
Do you think Oscar Meyer books a sale when Kroger sells you a package of hot dogs?
