All of us should be rooting for the law to be correctly applied. If it is a bad law, change it. But if it is the law, it is the law. If justice is decided based on any concern over public response, then a miscarriage of justice will have occurred and we are all the less for it.

There are no lessons to be learned here other than for some, life is hard as nails and some people live their lives daily in a setting that is not conducive to their own personal survival. There are neighborhoods in our nation that are less safe than a third world nation, some that are less safe than a free fire zone on a battlefield. Each neighborhood tries to combat that the best way they can and the best way they know how. They deserve better than what they are going to receive, regardless of how this plays out.

My advice for you guys is to slow it down and be prepared to be disappointed. There is no comfort in anyone dying this way. I don't shed a tear for those that lose their lives breaking into occupied buildings with violent intention. That is easy to justify. When someone loses their life due to confusion or circumstance, that just shows that we need to be vigilant in our own lives and in our own neighborhoods and try to do better if we can.

Is that punishable by death?
