Obama at the Correspondents Dinner

  • He killed it. - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZlJG5mpsyvI

I don't want this guy as my president, but he had me laughing out loud at his delivery. This is good stuff.

  • That was pretty funny. Jimmy Kimmel didn't fare so well. He had some funny lines, but he started getting a case of flop sweat and rushing through his material.

He's a nice guy. just piss poor proven wrong time and time again big spending big govt policies --the same ignored irresponsibility killing Europe now.

  • I thought he was funny, but his sort of stilted delivery seems annoying at times. I thought Kimmel was hilarious, but he rushed through things and seemed nervous. I don't think that Romney would be as good and not because of my views. I guess that he could be funny, but he doesn't seem like much of a comedian.

Who knows? Like Jimmy Carter, Barack Obama may prove to be a better ex-president than he was a president...shrug

I know it's silly to even ask... but what "big government spending" has Obama implemented? Specifics and annual costs please. coffee

The truth is that austerity programs and decreased government spending is what is killing Europe now. But don't let the facts get in the way of your race hatred.

  • It takes ball of steel for a President to double-down on dog-eating jokes. I'm sorry, but both the "pit bull is delicious" and the "it's a boy eat dog world out there" line were fantastic. You got the sense that the First Lady might've offered a "don't go there" before the dinner. I'm sure his staff had a blast coming up with that material........

Way too many long stretches of silence. Maybe the laughs just weren't loud enough on the crappy internet video that I saw of it?

  • Like I said, we need him out of there, but his "boy eat dog" line was nails. I won't soon get to a point where I am joking about bin laden vs. trump or the exposure to our president due to the secret service or the GSA stewardship of our tax dollars, but this guy can and he did. I understand that it lessens the impact of the actual digression when you can turn it into a joke, but I figure there is enough noise out there against all of this that I can laugh at it.

  • Greenwald expresses my thoughts:

"....the purest expression of the total blending of political power, media subservience, and vapid celebrity in one toxic, repulsive, and destructive package. It’s imperial rot — the Versailles virus — in its most virulent form."

Greenwald is as disgusted with politicians and the media that covers them as I am, and I love how he calls them out for being disgusting. All of them.
