President Obama lowers Spending, Taxes & Deficts!

  • More evidence that President Obama is the most Economically Conservative Presiedent since...well maybe ever...

Obama Is The Most Fiscally Responsible President In a Generation

Obama is slowing the growth in spending better than any other President in 60 years! The federal budget has grown 1.4% in Obamas first term, compared to Reagan who increased spending by 8%.

Yup, I've been consistent all along, the GOP congress under Bush was an irresponsible fiscal disaster. The Dem congress under Bush and Obama even worse. The only thing a president can do is use that veto pen. Neither Bush or Obama had any stomach for offending their own party by reigning in spending. Thus the mess we have today.

The dynamic is much more complex than that simple minded rant assumes.

The Congressional Democrats generally tend to go along with whom ever is President because they believe in the give and take of government...thus when there are Democrats in charge of the Congress it is more likely that the President's agenda will be followed in some form. Even then Congressional Democrats reduced the requested budgets from Reagan.

The Congressional Republicians since the Gingrich revolution in 1994 have been a parlamintary behaving party. When a Republician President is in power they give him everything he wants and more. When a Democrat is in power they refuse to work with him and refuse to pass his agenda. When they had Bush in power they spent like drunken sailors.

However the Republician Presidents have been all about increasing the deficts when they have power. The only adult since Nixon was GWH Bush and his party stabbed him in the back.

The Democrat Presidents have been about good governement including good economic government thus we have Clinton reducing the deficts first (and most critically) via a tax increase in 1993 (without one Republician vote - oh you people who claim the Republicians care about deficts) and second by working with Congress to execute good government.

Now we have President Obama who haa reduced the federal spending over time, both with a Democratic Congress and with a Republician Congress...

Now I know many of you think both parties are equally evil...however if ytou look at the actions you will find that the Republicans when they are in power tend to create a bigger mess and the Democrats when they are in power tend to create (and maybe even clean up) a smaller mess...which is what you should expect as the Republicians believe that government is evil and can only do evil things which they translate into evil actions when they have power while the Democrats believe that government can and does do good things which they translate into attempts to do good when they are in power...

To expect either party to be perfect and then when it does not meet that impossible standard to yell that government is evil and can only do evil things is childish and surely driven by the Republicans who profess this idea and want you to believe it.

You realize nobody, including the rest of the liberals who post here, agree with your nonsense. Again, you need to send your resume to the DNC. You'd be a great speechwriter for them. It's got to be hard to find people who are willing to make up this crap, and you not only do it for free, you apparently believe it. You're missing out a great career opportunity Gus.

Spot on....hard to believe these liberals bragging about Obama's reduced spending when he's racking up record deficits and debt unheard of in American history. This country is in serious trouble and the American public won't be fooled this time.

Well first it isn't mine...I'm just linking articles from highly respected reporters...just like others on this board do, second it must really be making you mad when you respond the way you are...no counter facts in your post, just your opinion...look at the facts darn it all...you may not like the budgets but from the last Bush budget on President Obama has reduced the spending, taxes and deficts.

It doesn't make me mad, it makes me sad. The Democratic party relies on chumps like you who actually believe the tired propaganda they spew. I'd say the same thing about any "conservative" who claims the current GOP leadership is in any way, shape or form representing true conservative values, fiscal or otherwise. We got $16 trillion in debt by both parties utterly ignoring their fiscal responsibilities and focusing on the only thing important to them.....reelection.

For you to claim that it is solely the Republicans fault is ludicrous, just as anyone claiming only the Democrats were fiscally irresponsible would be equally wrong.

Some day you'll wise up and understand all this, but until then don't let your speechwriting talents go to waste. Obama is going to need all the help he can get this fall.wink_msu

  • Maybe if you Righties close your eyes, suck your thumb, and mumble something about Ronald Reagan over and over, you can still pretend that 2009 was not Bush's budget and deficit. The largest deficit in US History is owned by Bush and his 2009 budget.

It was the Democrat controlled congress. Bush had no chance.

I believe your issue with with Ms. Pelosi and Mr. Reid as they controlled Congress and passed all spending bills in 2007-2010.

    You missunderstand...

Although the Republicians receive all of my ire as they are mostly responsible for the crazy ideas that you can cut taxes and still support the level of spending the Democrats are not perfect. However to put the Democrats who have been angels compared to the Republicians in the same area is to just be blind to how screwed up the Republicians have become, starting with Reagan and putting the nail in their party with Gingrich.

  • This story is getting some play on the National News Networks today. It's good to see the facts get reviewed and not just the myths. Taken at fact Obama has in fact been the most fiscally responsible President in a generation, even taken at a slant to the right he has hardly been an outrageous spender.

lol, it's getting destroyed as fast as it is getting reported. Again, it doesn't matter how the story is spun. The American public realizes the disaster Obama has created and that's why Romney is in such good shape politically at this stage of the process.
