    Limbugh has the best deal in radio. Getting $1M /year in major markets plus selling 50% of the advertising.

    Interested to see how Mike Huckabee's show does and if you will post how Limbaugh continues gains in April when Cumulus rolls out his show in 140 markets in the same 12-3 time slot

    They are working on paying some SEIU members to listen to the show to spread out the demographics more.

    Is that even legal? At the very least it's highly unethical for a pundit to be taking money from a special interest group. I highly doubt anyone at fox news would ever pull such a thing.

    Limabugh's Premer people are watching what happens to Huckabee's new noon to 3 show starting April 8 very carefully. Limbaugh's audience is over 70% make and the next largest demo is over 50. Huckabee will be on 140 Cumulus stations which is dwarfed by Limbaugh's 600 but he will be the first conservative to go head to head.

    It wasn't always like that but things like sports talk radio and other options have picked up younger and female listeners. The folks that started with Limbaugh 20 years ago are still there but fewer young people are listening.

    The poster said people that listen to Rush are dumb. I think the same of people that listen to Maher. Maher was on CNN a year ago and said we need to be exactly like Europe. Really? He also said that there are a certain percentage of people in America that are just too stupid to understand it.

    Yes, the pinnacle of insight that Rush expouses was during that 5 second period he called a woman a slut. That is the reason people have tuned in for 20 years. One huge anticipation of that moment. No way can he possibly have quality political analysis that draws people in. He's a moron and so is everyone who listens to him. Good logic (again).

  • Isn't the more pertinant issue the fact that his listening audience has grown? Does that infer anything? Possibly there are more liberal people listening, waiting for his next "moment" so they have something to disparage, possibly there are more conservative people listening just because they agree with his position.

    What would have caused an increase in listeners? Personally I think it was in response to all the free publicity given to him over the "slut" incident proving my point that there is no such thing as "bad" publicity if you are in the entertainment business.
