Who has said anything about race? Umm, you could start with the thread title emphasizing that this was a white guy who got beat up while "in the hood" (even though we don't actually know where he was). You could also look at the posts that decided to talk about how the media would ignore this story because a white guy was the victim. I'm glad that you don't see it as a racial issue, but let's not pretend that race hasn't come up in this thread.

I've always wondered about people who feel the need to check out something just because they're told it will piss them off, even though it's about something that doesn't affect their lives. I suppose that's why Nancy Grace has a show and why talk radio gets ratings. I'm probably in the minority here, but I'm not into impotent anger. I'll pass on those videos.

I don't wonder about people for being told something; I wonder about the reaction. If someone was told to watch a video of Trayvon Martin getting shot because it would piss them off, and they felt a need to watch, I would wonder why. I never feel the need to watch something when someone tells me it's going to piss me off, so I'm curious about people who do.

Actually, that's not what I think, but thanks for throwing the assumption out there. I do think race was a motivating factor for this attack, just like I think race was a motivating factor in the Trayvon Martin case. I think it's interesting though that many of the people who are upset about the media coverage of Trayvon Martin and the focus on race in that case are arguing that THIS case should be getting media coverage and that now the media should be talking about race. It seems to me that what you accused me of (only talking about race when certain victims are involved) is exactly what you should be accusing some others of who love to talk about race when the victim is white, but not when the victim is black.
