What percentage of Americans will have to pay the "tax"?

  • You act like liberals are thrilled with Obamacare. They're not. We simply look at the numbers (possibly as many as 40,000+ people in this country dying annually as a result of being uninsured) and realize that this is the best we are going to do (for the foreseeable future) in this currently right-wing-engineered country. Oh, and our preferred alternative/s would cost much less than the current system.

  • "the Urban Institute estimates that only about 7 million Americans will even be subject to the possibility of having to purchase insurance or pay the fine, tax, or whatever you want to call it."

That's true. There are enough members of congress beholden to corporate interests and/or afraid of the right-wing media to make a better plan a political impossibility. So we ended up with a big giveaway to the insurance and pharmaceutical industries that'll help more people get health insurance. Money runs politics, and it's only getting worse.
